Milan Bergamo Airport, Orio al Serio, Italy
Aquabox was chosen for the building of a high-capacity stormwater dispersion basin at the Milan Bergamo Airport, located in Orio al Serio, in the province of Bergamo, Italy.
Aquabox modular elements were used to build a water infiltration system that would serve the airport infrastructure areas. The basin was constructed with 2,704 Aquabox and 64 Aquabox cube elements, and a 270 m3 capacity (14.25 x 13.50 m surface and a 1.4 m height).
Aquabox provided efficient water dispersion for preventing flood damages and lowering airport maintenance costs, with a reduced excavation depth and volume compared to traditional solutions.
The system was built by Milesi Geom. Sergio construction company.
